Accident Sends Woman to Northside

The is investigating the cause of an accident that sent a 68-year-old woman to on Monday afternoon.

responded to the single vehicle accident on Fate Conn Road at 12:30 p.m., spokesman Tim Cavender said.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a red Chevrolet Cavalier that had left the highway, gone down an embankment and struck a tree. The 68-year-old driver broke her right ankle and was transported to Northside for evaluation.

One lane of Fate Conn Road was blocked until officials cleared the scene. No other injuries were reported.
