Man Killed in Waleska Crash Will Be Buried in Florida

Hector Diaz retired in 2011 as a store manager for Publix after 35 years with the company.

The Waleska man who died Sunday in a single-vehicle accident will be buried in Florida. 

The obituary for Hector Diaz, 55, of Waleska was submitted by Darby Funeral Home in Canton: 

Hector “Tico” Raul Diaz, 55, of Waleska, went to be with the Lord and, his brother Jose “Pepe” Diaz on Oct. 27, 2013.

He retired from Publix Supermarkets as a store manager in 2011 after 35 years with the company. He is survived by his wife Sherry, mother and father Laura and Jose of Palm Beach, Florida; his brother Lauro and his wife Ini of Sebring, Florida; his sister Yamida of Palm Beach, Florida; three daughters Daisy and her husband Hector, Evelyn and her husband Damian both of Miami, Florida; and Ashlee of Waleska; a son, Hector of West Palm Beach, Florida; three brother and sister-in-laws; Richard and Sally Hood, Russell and Carina Hood, Max and Trish Langford; five grandchildren, 17 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation was held at the Darby Funeral Home on Wednesday and will be followed by a visitation from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dorsey-E Earl Smith Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Florida on Friday, Nov. 1st.

Funeral service will be held at noon at Dorsey Funeral home and burial will take place at the Our Lady of Queen Peace cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday, Nov. 2nd.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the America Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital are greatly appreciated.
