In Memory: Lillie Mae McEver, 90

McEver was active in her church and loved children.

The following obituary was submitted by South Canton Funeral Home and Chapel: 

On Dec. 11, 2013, our loving Mother Lillie Mae McEver, 90, of Canton departed this life for her home in glory. She was born Jan. 3, 1923 to Arzie Mae and Reese E. Baker, Sr. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Emory E. McEver, Sr, and seven siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Gloria McEver and John A. Hampton, Beverly McEver & James N. Samples, Emory E. & Anna McEver and Albert Lee and Tonja McEver; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annie Ruth Miller and Mary Grace LeCroy as well as many other beloved family members and cherished friends.

Lillie Mae spent her life in the Atlanta area. She was always very active in her church. She never hesitated to offer her help to anyone in need. She could be epitomized as a true good samaritan. Her true love was for children, not just her own, but all who touched her life.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Austell.
