Mingea was laid to rest on Thursday at East View Cemetery in Rome.

Gwendolyn Darnell Mingea, 87 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, March 9 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at Darby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim McRae officiating. Interment was held at East View Cemetery in Rome
Survivors are daughter & son-in-law, Nancy (Alexander) Wilson of Canton; grandchildren, Michelle Christy of Panama City Beach, Florida; Connie & Mark Rosemeyer of Canton, Linda & Kris Northup of Locust Grove, Daniel & Casey Mingea III of Covington, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, James, Madeline, Bella, Jax and Sarah; sister & brother-in-law, Jacquelyn & Bubba Washington of Cumming; and several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Mingea was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel W. Mingea and son, Daniel W. Mingea Jr., sister & brother-in-law, Kathryn Darnell (Bobby) Lloyd and Brother, Joe Roger Darnell. Gwendolyn was born the daughter of the late Herbert Miles Darnell & Inez Vick Darnell in Lindale.
She retired from the First National Bank in New Orleans and has resided in Canton since 2005.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
