Funeral on Thursday For Cherokee Man Killed in Pickens

South Canton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Canton resident Anthony "Scott" Terrell, who died Sunday.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday for the Cherokee man who was shot to death over the weekend in Pickens County.

Family and friends will receive visitors for Anthony "Scott" Terrell between noon and 2 p.m. Thursday at South Canton Funeral Home. The memorial service is set for 2 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking contributions be made to Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, 24 Dakside Lane PMB 83, Key Largo, Fl 33037. 

Just after midnight on Sunday, the Pickens County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a fatal shooting at 1051 Waleska Highway 108. 

Deputies arrived at the home and found Cherokee County resident Scott Terrell, 44, of Canton dead at the scene, said Brad Parks, special agent in charge at the GBI's offices in Cleveland.

An autopsy has been conducted on Terrell, and Parks said they are waiting to receive the results. Patch has reached out the Pickens County Sheriff's Office to get a status of the investigation.
