Funeral for Jemail Jones on Tuesday

He was killed Tuesday in a crash on Bells Ferry and Butterworth roads.

Funeral arrangements for , the 29-year-old Canton man who was , have been announced.

A wake will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at . The funeral will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at .

Jones was behind the wheel of a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix that traveled northbound on Bells Ferry Road "at a high rate of speed, crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado head-on," Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said.

Jones' two passengers, identified by the GSP as 20-year-old Ricardo de San Pedro and 28-year-old Matthew Barron, were taken to  with ,  spokesman Tim Cavender said.

In the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck were 24-year-old Jennifer Myers and 27-year-old Michael Myers, Wright said. Their injuries appeared to be minor, Cavender said, but they were taken to Kennestone for evaluations.

The , which has not responded to repeated requests for comment, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that an on-duty deputy tried to pull the Grand Prix over for a traffic stop in Canton's BridgeMill subdivision. The driver did not stop. The deputy notifed dispatchers of traffic violations against the Grand Prix, but did not pursue the car or activate his emergency lights or his siren, according to the AJC.

The fatal wreck, which the GSP is investigating, occurred moments later.
