Funeral For Dr. Swords on Tuesday

Dr. Edwin Swords Jr. will be laid to rest on Tuesday at the Georgia National Cemetery west of Canton.

Funeral services for a well-known Canton dentist will be held early next week.

The family of Dr. Edwin Swords Jr. will receive visitors at Darby Funeral Home between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16. Funeral services for Dr. Swords are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at First Baptist Church Canton.

Dr. Swords will be buried at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery at 1080 Veterans Cemetery Road just west of Canton. 

The dentist passed away Tuesday evening at Northside Hospital-Cherokee, just days after he had surgery on his hip. 

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Edwin I. Swords III and Dana Swords of Canton; daughter Denise Swords of Canton; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Jack Goodwin of Canton; grandchildren Trey Goodwin, Nicholas Goodwin, Courtney Goodwin, Stephen Goodwin, Beth Goodwin, Dylan Goodwin, Austin Swords, Trent Swords and Natalie Swords; and great-grandchildren Wyatt Goodwin, Kylie Goodwin and Allie Goodwin.
