Deborah Jennings, Relay for Life Advocate, Passes Away

Jennings also worked for the Bank of Canton and for the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority.

Deborah Padgett Jennings, 51, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at Vitas Hospice. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 25 Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Henderson, Rev. Mike Ware, Rev. Jimmy Andrews and Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Jennings will lie-in-state at the church on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. 

Jennings was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and an advocate for Relay for Life. She enjoyed the outdoors and worked for the Bank of Canton for 18 years in operations and bookkeeping and for the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority. 

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Tim Jennings of Canton; children, Ryan Jennings and Christina Jennings both of Canton; siblings, Eddie (Sharon) Padgett and Lorie (John) Sanders all of Canton; uncles, Steve Padgett and Stanley Padgett; nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Benefit Account at United Community Bank in memory of Deborah Jennings.
