Former Client Brings Game Show Winnings to the HOPE Center

Georgia Grace Girls Trio Wins $20,000 on the Game Show Network's American Bible Challenge

A Cherokee County mom, daughter and family friend won $20,000 for the HOPE Center in Woodstock during their appearance on the Game Show Network’s “The American Bible Challenge,” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy. Mae Lynn Biggs, daughter Samantha Jesse and friend Lesley Hill, who called themselves the Georgia Grace Girls, beat two teams in the Bible knowledge contest. Contestants played the game for a charitable organization of their choice, after talking about the compelling circumstances that led them to choose their charity.

The Grace Girls defeated an Atlanta trio of co-workers who supported each other through health challenges, playing for a faith-based leadership academy, and three California firefighters playing for a children’s cancer charity.
Jesse said the HOPE Center helped her through an unplanned pregnancy during college.

“Becoming pregnant was completely unexpected and really scary for me. I was very afraid because I didn’t feel capable of being a parent, I just felt like I was too young. From the beginning of my pregnancy all the way through after Avery was born, The Hope Center helped me financially, providing things like clothes and bottles and formula and anything that I needed for Avery.”
Center executive director Cindy O’Leary was pleased that Jesse chose to play on behalf of the Woodstock center.

“This is a great example of how God can bless all of us in the most unexpected ways,” said O’Leary. “We love the show and were thrilled to see Avery’s story, Samantha’s story and our story shared with a national TV audience. What a blessing.”

Mae Lynn Biggs, Jesse’s mother, said the HOPE Center was a “wonderful blessing” for her daughter, who was a college student with no insurance when she became pregnant.
