I Warned You

Spring has barely started and termites are already on the prowl. They are eating your home and you do not even know it.

We are into our first week of spring. As I previously mentioned, our lackluster winter has allowed pests to come early. One such pest? TERMITES!

I have already encountered active termites this past week. I have seen both the
worker termites and the swarming termites. Both are bad news to homeowners!

The swarming termites are an indicator that you have a termite problem. Swarmers can be found outside and inside a structure. When found swarming outside, that is nature. When swarming inside, that means potential damage to your structure.

Swarming termites do not actually eat wood. It is the worker termite that does. When swarming termites are present, one can assume the worker termites are not far behind. Worker termites eat wood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I cannot stress enough about protecting your home against termites. I find many
homeowners do not pay attention to this part of homeownership. I also hear that a number of homeowners had a termite protection plan but felt like there was no value and let the coverage lapse.
