What's this Holiday Season's "It" Color? And More Winter 2013 Fashion Trends!

Find out his season's "it" color, newly trendy items you may have in the back of your closet, and other Winter 2013 styles!

Around Cherokee County, we all had to pull out our winter wardrobes unseasonably late this year. But that doesn't mean we have to be behind on this winter's trends. The fashion-minded might be happy to notice that many of this year's trends include staples that you might already have in your closet, too. Let's examine them:

Trendy Items to Look for in the Back of Your Closet

Denim Shirts - these blue shirts were ubiquituous a few years ago and they've now circled back into style. Just be sure to mix them with some funky accessories. As Canton resident and fashion merchandiser Matthew Blinn told us, "This winter’s fashion is all about juxtaposition – not just of sizes and silhouettes, but also fabrications and colors."

Leather Accessories - Think leather belts, earrings and necklaces. Search the back of your jewlery box for braided or studded leather bracelets - they're a total 90's throwback.

Military Styles - Have an old peacoat or a pair a pants with long, crisp lines? They're back in style this year. Dig them out!

And last but not least, be on the lookout for this year's trendy color:

We predict that you'll be seeing this light shade all over the place this winter - from sweaters to outerwear to makeup and accessories. It-color plum works well with other wine-colors, like burgundy and maroon. And it's no secret that wine colors are perfect for the winter holidays, so seek out complementary pieces for your ensemble when visiting family and friends or attending holiday parties. We're using this plum silk maxi-dress from Top Shop for inspiration.
