Canton Will Honor Veterans on Saturday

American Legion Post 45 will hold a ceremony and parade in downtown Canton to commemorate Veterans Day.

Canton-based American Legion Post 45 will pull out all the stops on Saturday as it honors the nation's veterans.

The post will hold its annual Veterans Day parade and celebration on Saturday in downtown Canton. The holiday this year will be officially observed by the United States government on Monday.

The post will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 10 a.m. outside the Cherokee County Justice Center. At 11 a.m., a flag dedication and young Marine graduation ceremony will kick off at 11 a.m. at Cannon Park.

The parade will start at 1 p.m. in the downtown area. All festivities are free to attend and open to the public.
