A Bad Call

Just when I thought the gutter politics of this campaign could not get any lower, I discovered that a FAKE ROBOCALL is going out about me. If you received this call, it is NOT from me or my campaign, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the Canton City Council. I just got off the phone with the FCC. This is called "spoofing," and someone is hiding behind a disconnected local number to conceal their identity. This is ILLEGAL, and a formal complaint has been filed. Political prerecorded calls have to identity who is making the call. This is another anonymous smear trick on the eve of the election.

As many of you know, an anonymous smear letter went out against me on the Friday before early voting began. Like the call, the content of this letter had nothing to do with the City of Canton or my qualifications for the job. It is disturbing to think that candidates would stoop to this level in a local city council race, and that is why so many citizens are disgusted with politics.

I have attempted to take the high road in this campaign, and I truly believe my work and service to the City of Canton speaks for itself. While campaigning across the city, I have heard time and time again that the citizens are sick and tired of the negative and divisive behavior of our current council, and I am confident they will reject any attempt to continue this trend. Even with the dirty tricks and gutter politics, I have exhibited GRACE UNDER FIRE. I believe this is an excellent character trait for a councilman, and I hope the voters agree.
