Race Planned To Honor Bride Killed In Crash

The Inaugural Kali Shay Quinton Memorial 5K will be held next month in Cumming.

The place of employment for a newlywed who was killed in a fatal accident will hold a race in her memory.

Hiser Orthodontics will host a 5K in memory of Kali Shay Quinton on Saturday, May 17 in Cumming. 

All proceeds from the Inaugural Kali Shay Quinton Memorial 5K will go towards The Kali Shay Quinton Scholarship Fund, created by Hiser Orthodontics to benefit one student each year from Pickens County High School, where Kali graduated.

The fundraising goal for this year is $7,000. Quinton, who worked as an assistant at the Cumming-based business, lost her life in the Dec. 29 crash. Her husband Ryan Quinton was arrested and charged by the Georgia State Patrol with laying drags, DUI, weaving over roadway, reckless driving and vehicular homicide.

The race will take place at Hiser Orthodontics located at 285 Elm Street in Cumming.

Registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m.  The race starts at 9 a.m.  Those interested in participating can call 404-983-7136 or visit active.com. Once there, prospective participants can search for Kali Shay Quinton to register.
