“Cobb EMC and its members who participate in giving to charitable organizations want to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve,” said Mark Goddard, Cobb EMC commercial marketing manager. “This is part of our mission statement and it’s also one of the cooperative principles by which we operate. One area of charitable giving is to local education foundations. Cobb EMC strives to be a good corporate citizen, and we know that donations can make a difference in people’s lives."

The donation from the Cobb EMC Community Foundation was given in conjunction with the organization’s “Operation Round Up,” which rounds up its participating members’ electric bills to the nearest dollar to aid charitable and educational projects in our communities.

The maximum tax-deductible contribution is estimated at $11.88 per year. “Operation Round Up” funds are administered by the Cobb EMC Community Foundation board of directors.
