Over 200 Cherokee Seniors Up for Adoption
The Volunteer Aging Council's Adopt-A-Senior Program provides holiday care packages to less fortunate senior citizens.
The Cherokee County Volunteer Aging Council is calling on the public to help sponsor over 200 seniors for its Adopt-A-Senior Program.
The program has 250 seniors who need to be adopted for the upcoming holiday season.
The seniors who will be adopted participate in the Cherokee County Senior Service's Meals on Wheels, Congregate Meals or Homemaker programs.

Volunteers interested can register to help between now and Dec. 6 by contacting Frankie Sanders at (770) 924-7768 or fsanders@cherokeega.com.
Those who volunteer to help will be asked to put together a gift bag that should include a full size warm, cozy blanket and a universal/one size fits all scarf, toboggan or hat, and gloves.

Volunteers are asked to assemble the package in a holiday-themed bag and drop off the items at the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency's office at 7545 Main Street Building 200 in Woodstock.
Volunteers can drop off gift bags starting Nov. 15. The deadline to have all bags dropped off is Dec. 6.
