Santa and Mrs. Claus Come to Ball Ground

Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their official visit to the city of Ball Ground, on Friday night, December 7th, beginning with a large parade starting at 6:30 pm.

Several entries will be participating in the parade including: fire trucks, elves, floats, and or course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.  At the conclusion of the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos at the gazebo in the heart of downtown Ball Ground. Photos are absolutely free, so don’t forget to bring your camera.

Santa’s visit to Ball Ground received national attention in 2009 when Santa was visited by a 4 year old little girl who asked him to bring her daddy home from Afghanistan.  Santa and Mrs. Claus were able to make her Christmas wish come true by delivering the American soldier to his daughter.  Two Atlanta television stations did stories on the event and the story went national the next day when it aired on CNN.  CNN anchor, Heidi Collins, called the story about Santa and the little girl the “story of the day.”

The Ball Ground Merchants Association will also be providing hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting and the Ball Ground Lions Club will be giving away free popcorn.  The Ball Ground Historical Society will also be selling their new 2013 calendar that features vintage photos of the city.
