The two candidates who will face off in next month's runoff election for the House District 22 special election have been invited to participate in a forum.

The Cherokee County Republican Women will host the forum, which is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Cherokee County Historic Courthouse in downtown Canton.

Republican candidates Meagan Biello and Sam Moore will both take questions from moderator Pete Castello.

The forum is free and open to the public. Both Biello and Moore made it into the runoff after a special election held on Jan. 7. Moore led the pack with with 924, or 37.98 percent, of the vote while 576 votes, or 23.67 percent, went to Biello.

Early voting will get underway for the election on Tuesday for the race, which covers portions of Cherokee, north Fulton and Forsyth counties.

The winner will fill the seat, which has been vacant since the passing of State Rep. Calvin Hill (R-Hickory Flat).
