Meagan Biello Formally Enters State House Race

Biello will challenge incumbent Rep. Sam Moore (R-Macedonia) in the GOP primary for the House District 22 seat.

It appears Meagan Biello and Sam Moore will go for round two in a bid to win the Georgia House District 22 seat.

Biello on Monday qualified to run in the May 20 Republican primary for the District 22 seat, which covers parts of Cherokee, Forsyth and north Fulton County.

Qualifying ends on noon Friday for the state and local races.

Moore, who won the special election last month for the seat vacated with the passing of Calvin Hill, qualified to run for the Republican nomination on Thursday.

“I am excited to officially be in the race," she said in a news release. "I am committed to working hard to restore sanity in House District 22 and provide the people of this community with the leadership they deserve."

Biello added Moore has proven he's "only interested in pushing his radical agenda."

"It is clear that he is even willing sacrifice the safety of our children and our community to do so," she added. "We cannot let that kind of extreme behavior stand.”

She went onto say the campaign wasn't about her, but about electing a representative that will fight for families and do whatever is necessary to put "conservative principles into action."

Biello teaches AP microeconomics and Honors U.S. history at Creekview High School where she also coaches cheer leading, serves as a junior class advisor and sponsors the school spirit club.
