Cherokee Republican Women To Host Candidate Forum

The forum will feature candidates in the Cherokee Commission District 4 and U.S. House of Representatives' District 11 races for the July 22 Republican runoff.

The Cherokee County Republican Women organization will sponsor a candidate forum later this month for two races residents will vote on during the July 22 primary.

The group will host a forum at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, June 26 for the Cherokee County Commission District 4 race and the U.S. House of Representatives District 11 seat.

The forum will be held at the Cherokee County Historic Courthouse at 100 North Street in Canton.

Republican candidates Scott Gordon and Larry Singleton are in the runoff for the county commission seat, which represents Woodstock, Towne Lake and southwest Cherokee.

Former U.S. Rep Bob Bar and former Georgia Senator Barry Loudermilk are running for the District 11 seat, which covers Cherokee, Bartow and parts of Cobb County.

The doors at the forum will open at 5:30 p.m., and the event will be moderated by former Cherokee County Republican Party Chair Jeff Duncan.
