Three arrested in Cherokee Copper Theft Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch

Three men have been arrested and charged with allegedly taking roughly 162 pounds of copper from a power substation in Waleska, according to a press release from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. 

Donnie Chastain, 40, of Talking Rock, Charles Johnson, 34, of Marble Hill and Michael Smith, 31, of Ellijay were all arrested Tuesday and charged with felony theft by taking, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass. Visit Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch for more on this story.

Alpharetta Couple Indicted For Running Pill Mills - Alpharetta-Milton Patch

An Alpharetta man and his wife were among those indicted for the illegal sale and distribution of pain killers to addicts and drug dealers at three AMARC pain clinics in metro Atlanta.

Godfrey Ilonzo, 63, of Alpharetta, the owner of the pain clinics; Bona Ilonzo, 51, of Alpharetta, his wife and office manager; Dr. Nevorn Askari, 57, of Monroe; and Dr. William Richardson, 59, of Atlanta, were indicted and arrested on federal drug and money laundering charges for their respective roles in operating so-called “pill mill” pain clinics. Gang Member Implicated in Standard Bar Killing Shot - Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A gang member implicated in the January 2009 fatal shooting of a popular Grant Park bartender turned up at Grady Memorial Hospital early Tuesday morning with multiple gunshot wounds, Atlanta police confirmed.

An attempted robbery of a Barrington Farms resident returning home from the store on Tuesday, Jan. 15, has the local community shaken up and on guard.
