Jorelys' Sisters Going Home

An agreement was reached a half-hour before the appearance in court of the man accused of killing the 7-year-old Canton girl.

An attorney for the father of slain 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera's half-siblings announced this afternoon that her two younger sisters are returning home.

A half an hour before Ryan Brunn, the man accused of the murder, was to make his first appearance in , lawyer John Connolly said an agreement had been reached with the state to return the two girls.

They were taken from their mother, Joselin Rivera, last weekend after Jorelys disappeared. The first-grader's body was found in a compacting garbage bin Monday.

Jorelys had been beaten, sexually assaulted and stabbed.

On Wednesday, police arrested Brunn, a maintenance man and resident at the apartment complex, River Ridge, where Jorelys lived with her mother and sisters.

"The family very much wants the two children to have as much of a normal life as they can, given all the terrible things that have happened," said Connolly, who represents the father, Santos Torres.
