4 People Found Dead in Johns Creek Apartment

Four people have been found dead in Aylesbury Farms apartments on Abbotts Bridge Road, according to the Johns Creek Police Department.

Police found the bodies mid-morning today, Monday, Feb. 4, while conducting a welfare check, said Johns Creek's Communications Manager Rosemary Taylor, who added that all four bodies were found in one unit, No. 601. Read more about this story on Johns Creek Patch.

2 Teens Die in Sandy Plains Road Crash
- East Cobb Patch

Two teenagers were killed in East Cobb early Sunday morning when the car in which they were riding crashed into a brick sign and caught fire.

Sgt. Dana Pierce of the Cobb Police Department said the victims were Stephen Nolasco, 19, and Matthew Bennett, 18, both of Marietta.

The accident occurred around 3:20 a.m., when a silver 2001 Volvo S60 Nolasco was driving northbound on Sandy Plains Road apparently lost control, according to Pierce. .

Beginning today, Red Cross disaster shelter locations in Bartow and Gordon counties will also serve as Red Cross casework centers for families with emergency needs resulting from significant storm damage to their homes.

Residents who cannot live in their homes are urged to call to set up an appointment to meet with a caseworker or to simply drop by a Red Cross center. Residents whose damaged homes are livable but have other disaster-caused needs are asked to call and arrange to speak with a Red Cross caseworker. Cash and thousands of dollars worth of gaming systems were reported stolen in a burglary at Bailen's Pub in Lilburn.
