It's Friday, Canton! Here's what you need to know to finish your week.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service expects the patchy fog in our area to burn off by 10 a.m. Afterwards, the high temperature in Canton should be 78 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Tonight's low will be near 54 degrees.

2. In Case You Missed It: The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the man killed at the Pilgrim's Pride chicken plant on Tuesday. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

5. On This Date in History: On Oct. 26, 1977, the last natural case of smallpox is detected in Somalia. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization consider Oct. 26 the anniversary of the eradication of smallpox in the wild.
