Canton's Leaf Collection Program Begins

The program allows citizens to get rid of unsightly leaves and helps the city provide free compost.

The City of Canton's Public Works Department has announced the return of its annual leaf collection program.

Starting this week, residents may rake their leaves into the right of way and city crews will collect them. Citizens are asked to ensure sewer inlets and drainage pipes are free of clogging leaves.

Once the leaves are collected, they are turned into compost and delivered at no cost to residents and local gardens to keep the green space healthy and strong during the long winter.
