At Cherokee Bank, we live by the Golden Rule --- treating people the way that we would like to be treated.

A team member shared with me this morning an example. For our client’s privacy, I am changing the client’s name to ‘Mr. Jacobs’.

“Mr. Jacobs was just here and as he walked up to my window and I said “Hi Mr. Jacobs, how are you today?”  We chatted for a moment and then he said he wanted to say something to me because he thought it was important.  He said that he had banked with Bank of America for many years and still has his personal accounts there and had never walked into that bank and been greeted with ‘Hi Mr. Jacobs, how are you today?’, but that happens every time he walks in our door.  He commented how nice that is and how much he appreciates it.”

Our team member told me that this just shows that treating people by living by the Golden Rule is noticed and appreciated.

That made me happy. Of course, I’ll be happier when he moves his personal accounts!
