Yawn's Books Leaving Main Street

Although the bookstore will close up shop, the Canton business hopes to expand its other enterprises.

After an eight year run as one of the most prominent businesses along Main Street in Canton, Yawn's Books & More will be closing in December.

The closure does not mean the end of Yawn's, however; the bookkeeping, publishing and book club aspects of the old bookstore will be transferred to a new location once a suitable property is found.

“The only thing we’re doing is closing the physical bookstore,” owner Farris Yawn told the Cherokee Tribune.

With the store's closure penciled in for Christmas Eve, 2013 will be a time for Yawn to expand his publishing business, which has already published books from authors in several states.

From now until the store's closure, most merchandise is being sold at discounted prices.
