1. William Miranda of Canton was arrested and charged with terroristic threats Monday in connection with Thursday's bomb threat at the Pilgrim's Pride processing plant on Univeter Road.

2. Eight Cherokee County area high school seniors were recently named 2013 National Merit semifinalists, which is based on performance on the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and allows the students to compete for about 8,300 scholarships worth more than $32 million.

3. Car Max Auto Finance needs to fill 10 collection and customer service jobs at its Kennesaw call center, and the Georgia Department of Labor will assist them in that effort next Monday. The agency will recruit for Car Max from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 24 at the department's Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Rd., Marietta.
