Applebee's to Undergo Makeover

New additions will include free WiFi and murals of Canton high schools and Reinhardt University.

Go to just about any Applebee's across the country and you'll notice the same look and design.

Soon, all of that will change at the Riverstone .

The popular eatery is about to undergo a transformation that will make it look less like a franchise and more like a hometown restaurant.

“We’re most excited about the restaurant’s new features that celebrate the , specifically custom-made murals of and high schools and Reinhardt University on our walls,” Ben Shahbazi, senior general manager of the Canton location, said in a statement. “The new murals help us create a stronger connection between Applebee’s and the city that’s been so great to us over the last 14 years.”

Among other planned changes:

  • free WiFi;
  • new, larger High Definition flat-screen TVs;
  • a completely revamped interior and exterior;
  • and more beers on tap.

To complete the remodel, Applebee’s will close for three days starting at 9 p.m. Jan. 29. The restaurant will unveil the finished look on Feb. 1.
