8 New Businesses in Canton

A tenant has been secured for the space that once housed Fabiano's Pizzeria.

Despite a series of high profile business closures–Fabiano's Pizzeria, and the among them–Main Street Program director Ginger Garrard recently told the Canton City Council that there's good news to report.

Since January, eight new businesses have moved to Canton's Historic Downtown Loop, brought 33 jobs to the city and pumped about $764,000 into the local economy.

Eleven additional jobs will open up Sept. 1 when another restaurant takes over the East Main Street building that once housed Fabiano's.

"We're excited," Garrard said. "They've already gotten their license. They're in the process of getting setup."

, which has held painting parties at the , also has plans to set up shop in Canton. If all goes as planned, that would mean another five jobs.

"That's 49 new jobs since January," Garrard said.

Thinkgate, a software company: created 10 jobs and invested $300,000 in Downtown Canton.

Inlign Chiropractic: 2 jobs, $6,000

Windstream: $65,000 into a new office
