Cherokee Homecoming Parade Will Close Canton Streets

The parade starts at 4:30 p.m. and the streets it will use will be closed to motorists for roughly one hour.

Cherokee High School's homecoming parade will take over a major thoroughfare this afternoon.

The Canton Police Department is informing residents of possible traffic jams when the parade kicks off at 4:30 p.m. 

Parade participants will start at the school, located at 930 Marietta Highway, and march north bound towards the Waleska Street intersection. The parade will then march along West Main Street, East Main Street, circle around to North Street and head back towards the school. 

The route will be closed to motorists for roughly one our and Canton police urges drivers to find alternate routes during the parade.
