Super Bowl Party Dips

No matter what kind of fancy appetizer you make, the one thing people really love is a good dip, personal chef Darlene DeMesa says.

The Super Bowl is Sunday, and most of you will be having some kind of party or get together.

I have some great recipes for dips.

I have realized that no matter what kind of fancy appetizer I try to make, the one thing people really love is a good dip. My friend Sherre makes an awesome dip that I will definitely make for my next gathering. There’s not really a name for it, so I’m just calling it 'Sherre’s Awesome Cheese Dip'.

The other dip that I love is buffalo chicken dip. It’s tangy and cheesy and just plain good. I like to serve these dips with pita chips, baby carrots and celery. If you’re going to a Super Bowl party, or any party, you should definitely try these tasty dips. People will love them. Let me know if you have an awesome dip in the comments section.

Sherre’s Awesome Cheese Dip

2 cups shredded swiss

1 (8 oz.) package of low fat cream cheese, softened

1 cup mayo

A dash of garlic poweder

A dash of Mrs. Dash (table blend)

1 teaspoon of hot sauce (depending on taste, may require more)

5 pieces of cooked bacon (or 1 Oscar Mayer cooked bacon in pouch)

½ sleeve of regular or wheat Ritz crackers, crumbled

Preheat oven 325ºF degrees. Combine first six ingredients until well blended. Put in a 8- by 8-inch baking dish. Add crumbled crackers, then the bacon on top.
Bake for 25 mins. After 12 minutes or so, you can cover the baking pan so the bacon won’t burn.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 cups cooked diced chicken

½ cup Frank’s Buffalo Sauce

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

½ cup blue cheese dressing

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Mix all ingredients together and place in a baking dish. Bake in a 350ºF oven for about 20 minutes. Add more cheese to top and bake 10 minutes more. You can also top with chopped green onions.

Stay safe and eat great, Canton!
