Get Out: Country Meets Theater

A county fair, concerts, a benefit yard sale and the great lake cleanup are all part of a great weekend in store for you in Canton.

Where/When: Cherokee County Fairgrounds, 160 McClure St., Canton; Gates open at 5 p.m. today and Friday; 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Why Go: There's so much to see and do at a county fair and this one is no exception. Amusement rides, shows and agricultural exhibits are just some of the attractions. The seventh annual Miss Cherokee County Fair Pageant is on Saturday with special guest Michaela Grace Lackey, Miss Georgia 2011. Get out and enjoy your county fair.

Pricing: $4 general admission; $1 seniors and children 6-12; children under 6 admitted free

Where/When: Falany Performing Arts Center, Reinhardt University, Waleska; 7:30 p.m. today

Why Go: This trio can play it all. From American folk music to African Spiritual, they enjoy bringing various genres to the audience in their own classical style. Recognized as one of the most expressive chamber ensembles today, Matthew Anderson, a Reinhardt faculty member, Dusty Woodruff and Rylan Smith are in their sixth year together.

Where/When: Reinhardt University, Waleska; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: You'll find some great bargains and help out the Naturally Sharp Music Organization at Reinhardt at the same time. This is an indoor yard sale at the Falany Performing Arts Center. Furniture, clothing, jewelry, shoes, books, records, decorative items and hundreds of items will be on sale. Proceeds will help music students attend the Georgia Music Teachers Association State Conference in November. The funds will also help with service projects such as Operation Christmas Child and performances at local nursing homes.

Where/When: Canton Theatre; 8 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: This country music star with his pure soulful tenor voice has been described as one of the most remarkable voices in music today. Don't miss Atlanta's own as he takes the stage at the Canton Theatre for a one night only acoustic guitar concert.

Where/When: Lake Allatoona, Riverside Day Use, 513 Allatoona Dam Road, Cartersville; 8 a.m. Saturday
