What Do You Want to See on Your Patch?

This site is run for the benefit of Canton residents, so who better to ask what they want to see on their site?

Happy New Year, everyone!

I want to start out by thanking all of Canton-Sixes Patch's loyal readers, bloggers and commentors. Without your input, this job wouldn't be half as rewarding as it is now. Working with the fine folks of Cherokee County has been a blessing for me in these past four months.

Now that I've got some time in the saddle, I want to reach out to you, dear reader, and find out what really gets your attention. Be it stories about the school board, mug shots from the Sheriff's Office, or a blog about recipies, anything and everything that the citizens of Canton deem important should be given air time here.

This is your big chance to determine some of the content that will go up on to the site and be read by tens of thousands of people each month. I've always been a believer that the relationship Patch has with its communities should be a two-way street, and I want to take the new year as an opportunity to blow that street wide open.

Patch thrives and loves all of its Local Voices: Citizens who take the time out of their busy days to share their thoughts on politics, schools, or fun topics like yard sales and accomplishments!

We are always looking for more Local Voices to swell our ranks and provide more exciting and interesting points of view to our community. If you've got a great recipe, share it! If you've got concerns about the local schools or local government, let your fellow citzens know! Are you a member of a wonderful non-profit in need of volunteers? Allow us to help you out! Lost your dog? We have the social media resources that can help reunite you and your furry family member!

So, residents of Canton, make your voices heard! It's not every day you get to suggest a course of action for a news provider!

Thanks in advance for all the comments, and I look forward to a great 2013 with your help!

-Justin Ove
