Cherokee Sheriff's Office Looking For Runaway…

Sheriff, Sixes Tavern Team Up For Toy Drive

The inaugural drive will benefit the Sheriff's Office's Christmas Joy Program.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is joining forces with Sixes Tavern to help give local children a brighter holiday season.

The tavern will play host to the first installment the Sheriff Roger Garrison Charities' toy drive on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

The toy drive, which is planned to become an annual event, will benefit the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Reserve Unit's Christmas Joy Program.

Each year, the unit distributes toys, food and necessities to needy families in the county; last year, the unit served 113 elderly people, 193 children and over 100 families.

Attendees of the toy drive are asked to bring an unwrapped toy worth $10 or more with them when coming to the event. In exchange, Sixes Tavern will be hosting a buffet and live music.

If you have questions about the drive, please contact Sixes Tavern at 770-345-2939 or Sgt. John Forkin of the Sheriff's Office at 678-333-6345.
