Scarecrows Will Take Over Cannon Park

Canton's Fall Harvest Celebration on Oct. 26 will feature a scarecrow decorating contest.

Friday is the last day for residents, businesses and groups to enter their scarecrows to be judged during Canton's Fall Harvest Festival.

Decorated scarecrows can be dropped off at Canton City Hall by Friday. Each scarecrow will be on display all next week in Cannon Park ahead of the celebration, which is set for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26 at the park.

Attendees will judge scarecrows and winners will be awarded Downtown Dollars, which can be spent at any participating merchant in downtown Canton.

The first-place winner will receive $50, while second place will garner $30 and third-place winner will get $20.

Entry forms can be found on the city's website.

Residents at the event will be able to enjoy the Canton Farmers Market, hay rides, kids' activities, trick or treating with vendors and other activities.
