Riding Toy, Cordless Drill Recalled

Before you wrap those shiny new Christmas gifts for junior or dear old dad, make sure they're safe to use.

Two products have been recalled this week by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) because they could be potentially dangerous or fatal to users. 

The Step2 Company, in conjunction with CPSC, has issued a recall for its X-Rider Car due to a fall risk for children who lean too far over the handlebars. According to CPSC, there have been four reported injuries due to this defect.

The toy was sold at Target between January and August, 2012.

Harbor Freight Tools and CPSC have issued a recall of a cordless drill, model number 96526. The black trigger switch can overheat on this drill, causing a fire and burn hazard. There has been one report of a minor injury due to this malfunction.

The drills were sold through Harbor Freight from April 2008 to May 2012.
