Papa's Pantry Needs Your Help

The food bank is running low on food supplies.

With the increased demand in food, Papa's Pantry is asking the community to help stock its shelves.

Ameris Bank in downtown Woodstock is sponsoring a food drive for the charity until Wednesday. Collection bins have been set up at the bank, Woodstock Pharmacy and at Morgan's Ace Hardware. For every item dropped off at these locations, Papa's Pantry will get $.35 cents.

After Wednesday donations can be dropped off at the pantry's location at 6551 Commerce Parkway Suite 200.

Food items needed include: breakfast cereal, oatmeal, grits, cereal bars, peanut butter, jelly, canned meat, canned fruit, canned spaghetti, rice, side dish and flavor packets, boxed meals, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, black beans, lima beans, snacks for kid's lunch boxes, juice, juice boxes, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper and pet food.

Papa's Pantry also is gearing up for the increased demand for the holiday season. Items needed for the Thanksgiving rush include: frozen turkeys, stuffing (boxed or bagged), French fried onions, sweet potatoes (fresh or canned), white potatoes (fresh, canned, or instant), canned gravy (jars break in big food drives), marshmallows, canned pumpkin, canned milk, raisins, fresh produce such as collard greens, celery, onions, lettuce, spinach, bananas, apples, oranges, holiday pies, cookie mixes, white and brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, garlic powder, onion powder, sage, poultry seasoning, baking soda, baking powder, chicken broth, rolls, cooking oil, and tin foil.
