5. On This Date in History: In keeping with the March Madness spirit sweeping through Atlanta, let's look at a college basketball first. On April 8, 1893, the first recorded college basketball game was played at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. The Geneva College Covenanters were victorious over the New Brighton YMCA.
