Morning Briefing: What Was Bomb Threat Caller's Motive?

Here's what's happening in Canton this Wednesday.

1. Weather: Despite a 10 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms after 4 p.m., the National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 76 degrees for Canton today. Tonight, look for partly cloudy skies and a low temperature of 55 degrees.

3. Happening Now: The investigation is underway into the Woodstock man who allegedly called in separate bomb threats to the Cherokee Justice Center and the Cobb County Courthouse yesterday. Initial speculation is that the foreclosure sale of the suspect's home prompted the threats.

5. On This Date in History: On May 8, 1902, the volcano Mount Pelée on the island of Martinique erupted violently, totally destroying the flourising town of Saint-Pierre, and killing almost all of the town's 30,000 inhabitants. According to legend, only two people survived the eruption.
