On This Date in History:  On Feb. 14, 1929, four gangsters acting on the orders of a very un-romantic Al Capone surprised seven members of rival George Moran's gang in a Chicago garage and murdered them in what became known as the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. The hit, intended to wipe out Capone's rivals, infuriated public opinion against the kingpin and helped lead to his eventual downfall.
