2. In Case You Missed It: The City of Canton will be hosting an electronics recycling event on May 11 at City Hall. Most electronics such as old computers and TVs can be recycled for free, and you can even get documents shredded at a very low cost.

5. On This Date in History: On April 10, 1815, Indonesia's Mt. Tambora erupted, and erupted hard. To this day, it is the largest eruption ever witnessed by humanity; 71,000 people were killed by the eruption, the sound of the eruption was heard 1,600 miles away, and Mt. Tambora itself lost almost 5,000 feet off its top. The amount of ash the volcano spewed into the atmosphere caused global cooling, and scientists believe the eruption is responsible for 1816 being described as "The Year Without a Summer."
