Morning Briefing: Three Hour Council Meeting!

Here's what's going on in Canton this Friday.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers in the area today and mostly cloudy skies. Today's high will be around 61 degrees, with a low tonight of roughly 48 degrees.

2. In Case You Missed It: If you were at last night's Canton City Council meeting, your rear end is probably still sore from sitting in a chair for three hours. If you weren't at City Hall to join in the fun, check out this exhaustive (because I was exhausted when I wrote it) recap of the meeting and the lengthy public comment session.

3. Happening Now: It's getting closer to Christmas! If you haven't gotten your tree yet, look at this list of local businesses that have you covered. If you're going to throw up the Christmas decorations this weekend, don't forget to take lots of pictures and submit them to Patch's Deck the House Contest! You could win $100,000 for the Cherokee County School District!

4. Looking Ahead: Human innovation is really amazing. Just 15 years ago, nobody had any idea how to recycle old computers. Today it is almost second nature to recycle unwanted technology. Learn more about the evolution of electronics recycling at 9 a.m.!

5. On This Date in History: On Dec. 7, 1787, Delaware became the first state to ratify the United States Constitution.
