5. On This Date in History: On Jan. 17, 1950, a team of 11 criminals stole $2.7 million from the Brink's Building in Boston. The team had trained and practiced their caper for two years before pulling off the heist. Although all the team members were eventually arrested and imprisoned, only $58,000 of the loot was ever recovered.
