Seven local districts think a law that allows the state to give rejected charter school applicants an additional look is unconstitutional. The court extended its term, which ended Wednesday, to render an opinion in the case. The case could impact schools such as Cherokee Charter Academy, which was approved by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission after the denied its charter application. The school is slated to open in the fall at the site of , the Sixes Road private school facing foreclosure.

3. Since the ramped up patrols of commercial trash trucks on Interstate 575, 18 littering or unsecured load citations have been issued. The increased patrols followed complaints of trash and moving violations on I-575. Two commercial trash trucks have been impounded. One had an expired tag and several equipment violations. The other was driven by an unlicensed driver who was arrested.

4. Parents at , the Sixes Road private school facing , held a 'Moving Forward' meeting on Wednesday. According to an update on ahaparents.net, they hope to have details about the school's new location by Saturday. "WHETHER we will have a location seems to be a non-issue," the website says. "Rather it is just a matter of precisely where."
