The cow will throw out the first pitch at 8 a.m. on the small field. Former Dodgers draft pick Jeff Auterson will do the honors on the big field. As municipalities across Cherokee consider measures to regulate pill mills, the county's narcotics division has been chosen for a program that will make it easier for them to identify prescription drugs in the field. Field agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad will carry portable, battery-operated devices to accurately identify drugs they encounter on raids. The devices can identify drug chemicals in less than 10 seconds. Read more .
