Heavy Rain Returns To Canton on Monday

Rain is expected to return to the area today, so get your umbrellas and galoshes ready.

Heavy rain is expected to return to Canton on Monday and last through Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service

The rain is expected to arrive in Canton on Monday, as a strong storm system will arrive in the area, bringing showers starting mostly after 4 p.m, according to Canton's seven-day forecast.

Monday's high temperature will hover around 48 degrees, with lows dipping to 42 degrees. New rainfall totals could possibly bring between a quarter and a half of an inch of precipitation.

Showers and possible thunderstorms will continue Monday night, with wind speeds varying between 15 and 20 miles per hour. Gusts could reach 30 miles per hour. New rainfall amounts could add three-quarters to one inch of water to the area.

Tuesday will be cloudy with a 100 percent chance of showers and highs will reach 56 degrees. Winds will start out from the east and will shift to the southwest, and speeds will range between 10 and 20 miles per hour. Wind gusts could reach 30 miles per hour.

The rain is expected to subside Tuesday night and will give way to mostly cloudy skies. Tuesday's low temperature will be around 37 degrees. 

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with highs around 55 on Wednesday and 48 on Thursday. The low temperatures on both days will be in the low-to-mid-30s.

Friday's forecast is expected to be partly sunny, with highs in the upper 40s and lows around 30 degrees.

Saturday will also be partly cloudy with a high around 45 degrees.
