FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: , 11 a.m. Feb. 19

Why Go? Not only will author Debbie Byrd read to children, she will also have crafts, coloring books, stickers and goodies for them.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 6 p.m. Feb. 19

Why Go? Celebrate Black History Month with phenomenal choirs, dance groups and soloists such as Saint Paul AME Church, , , , and .

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Earth, Paint and Fire, 1025 Rose Creek Dr., Woodstock. Feb. 22-24, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: You won't have to pay thousands for new art pieces for your home. Your kid will also get to dabble in pottery, painting and clay building.

Pricing: All three sessions are $80 plus tax. Sign up a sibling and get a 10 percent discount. Before tax, the Tuesday/Thursday sessions are $54 and the Wednesday session is $34.

Where/When: 765 Ash St. (off Interstate 575, exit 14). Open Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Why Go: Kids and parents alike will love sliding down giant slides, jumping in huge bounce houses and running through inflatable obstacle courses.

Pricing: $7 for children over 3 and older; free for children 2 and under.

Where/When: Tanglewood Farms, 171 Tanglewood Dr. Exhibit runs until Feb. 28. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: You'll get to pet and learn about miniature farm animals.

Pricing: Bring a can of soup or mittens for the needy and entrance is $10.
