Why Go: Beat the heat at the coolest place in town and adopt an adult animal for free. There will be food, fun and some great animals looking for a good home. The free adoption is only on Saturday with a limit of one per household so don't miss out on this deal.

Why Go: The Georgia growing season is far from over so get out and check out all the local farmers markets. You'll find home grown goodies along with handmade arts and crafts handcrafted by local artisans.

Where/When: Canton Theatre, 171 E. Main St., Canton; Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: It could be your turn to step out into the spotlight in the Cherokee Theatre Company's production of a tribute to the great songs that have been written for the movies. Check out their website for audition requirements for singers and dancers and get ready to have some fun in the theatre.

Why Go: It will be a great night out at the theatre with an original live stage comedy presented by Fontaine Fantasy Films and written by Brenda Fontaine. It's the story of four elderly gents in search of love 'round the Rolodex and is for ages 16 and older.
