Get Out: Shake Your Groove Thing

There's lots to do in and around Canton this weekend.

Why Go: A library card is a beautiful thing. It opens doors to books, movies, art and more. If you haven't checked out your local library lately, now's the time. Get out and sign up for your card at any of the Sequoyah libraries.

Where/When: Cagle's Family Farm, 355 Stringer Rd., Canton; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: It's a sure sign of fall when the corn maize opens. Get out and get lost in the fun. Besides the maize, you can enjoy the Ag-Venture Farm and bonfire hayrides all down on the farm.

Pricing: $10 for the corn maize; $7 each for the Ag-Venture Farm and the bonfire hayrides.

Where/When: Cherokee Rhythm and Smooth, 149 Reinhardt College Pkwy., Canton; 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: If you're a Dancing With the Stars fan, now's your chance to learn a few moves and strut your stuff on the dance floor. The lesson begins at 7:30 p.m. and the party follows. Get a group together or go solo and meet new friends. A variety of dances are taught and practiced, light refreshments served along with nonalcoholic drinks.

Why Go: The Cherokee Warriors face West Forsyth in another home game. Get out and cheer for the hometown team. It's Friday night in Canton; where else would you want to be?

Where/When: , Canton; Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Your little buckeroos can play dress up with chaps, boots and hats to look like real live cowboys. The whole family will have fun exploring the real Wild West Town of Tanglewood. There's bungee bull riding, pony rides and hayrides. The kids can even feed and pet over 100 miniature animals that call Tanglewood home.

Pricing: $10 general admission; infants under one admitted free.
